Things every surgery intern should have on them:

1. #15 blade
2. Cellphone
3. Sterile & non-sterile gloves that fit
4. 14-gauge angiocath
5. 0 silk stitch
6. Eye shield
7. Suture removal kit
8. Lubricant
9. 4 x 4 gauze
10. Betadyn swab
11. Picture of your spouse, child, dog, etc. (if not on cellphone)
12. $5

The time you’ll save not foraging for these things during residency adds up to about two months. Plus you might save a life.
